I found this stamp at the bottom of a sharpening stone box. I did a little bit of research but I don't know enough to be sure what it is.
Having looked at the stamp it is very hard to give you much definitive detail. A date stamp would be helpful. What is important is the perforation. Just looking at the stamp I would call it a Scott 599 perf. 10 type 1 rotary coil stamp. Just a guess though.
I don't believe that the design number A140 ever had a lake shade in the 2c value, so I would say no. I don't have access to a Stanley Gibbons catalog, but I don't see any mention of that shade in Scott. Those style Washington stamps had carmine, rose carmine, red, rose red and rose shades.
