Nice selection, but I think I recognise one of them , I beleive it was owned by Arthur Wynne who was the Britsh Born inventor of the Crossword. Arthur was born in Liverpool, England in 1871 and emigarted to the USA in 1891 at the age of 19

He lived in Pittsburgh ( worked for Pittsburgh Press newspaper ) and played the Violin for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orcestra , before moving to New York

He invented the Crossword puzzle whilst he was a resident of Cedar grove, New Jersey in 1913

I think the stamp he owned is 6 accross and 4 down :)

OK, just had to check out your story and yes, Arthur Wynne did indeed invent the crossword puzzle. He also lived in the era of the George Washington 5 cent blue stamps (as far as I can figure out) so, it is possible Arthur could have owned the stamp 6 across and 4 down. But I think Arthur, more than likely, owned the three middle ones on the second row. Check out (on the internet) the first crossword puzzle that Arthur Wynne invented to see why I think it was those three stamps. Anyways, just having a little FUN! :)

I would not want 147 stamps all the same. Would you pick out the very nicest and give us a closer image please?
